Man Attempts to Abduct 9 Year Old Girl From Church Children's Ministry 
A children's ministry volunteer in Maryland Heights, Missouri is credited with saving a young child this past weekend (July 6, 2009). Church member James Edward Steen allegedly attempted to remove the nine year old girl from her class, when a ministry volunteer stopped it from happening. Police say that Mr. Steen has admitted that his intentions were to have sex with the child “because of her attractiveness for being nine years old he found her to be the most attractive child in that classroom” said Captain Scott Will of the Maryland Heights Police Department. The church uses check in software that only allows a child to be released to the person who originally checked in the child. In addition to the use of technology, children should be taught the fundamentals of personal safety and be given permission to use their voice and personal weapons if there is an attempt to remove them to another location against their will.
